Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played between either two players (singles) or two teams of two players each (doubles). The objective of the game is to hit a lightweight ball over a net, into the opponent’s court, with the intention of making it bounce in a way that the opponent cannot return it effectively. The sport is played on a variety of surfaces, including grass, clay, and hard courts, each affecting the game’s speed and style. Players score points by winning rallies, and matches are typically played in a best-of-three or best-of-five set format. Tennis combines physical agility, precision, and strategic shot selection, making it both a physically demanding and mentally engaging discipline. It is governed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is popular worldwide, with major tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open being part of the Grand Slam events.
