Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using the feet, but players may also use any part of their bodies except their hands and arms (the goalkeeper is an exception, as they are allowed to handle the ball within their penalty area).

There are several forms of football, the most popular being association football (known as soccer in some countries) and American football. Association football is governed globally by FIFA and is played across various leagues and competitions worldwide.

The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, physical fitness, and skill, with matches usually lasting 90 minutes divided into two halves. Various rules, known as the Laws of the Game, dictate play and ensure fairness. Football is renowned for its ability to unite millions of fans, making it one of the most popular sports globally.
