Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). It is played on a rectangular court divided by a net. The objective is to hit a ball over the net into the opponent’s court in such a way that they are unable to return it. Players use a racket to strike the rubber ball, which can be made of felt, and the game can be played on various surfaces such as grass, clay, or hard court. Points are scored when one player fails to return the ball in the prescribed manner, and the game consists of a series of points that culminate in games, sets, and matches. Tennis is governed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and features major tournaments, including the Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. The sport is known for its combination of physical endurance, skill, and strategy.
